Born in Sydney, Glo’s ambition as a child was to become an Artist. Colouring in and drawing were to occupy her till she started her studies at the National Art School at East Sydney for 4 years, than worked in advertising as a graphic artist and illustrator. A professional Artist since l985, her works depict a variety of subjects from Australian fauna, underwater themes, landscapes, portraits, figurative work, birds and animals. Initially she painted with oils but later found water colour gave her a lot more scope. The addition of inks, pastels, pencils and collage were very rewarding.
She says “water colour can be unpredictable and can surprise you with some wonderful effects which are called serendipity. To start water colour painting you need to keep an open mind about the direction you are likely to go. It is an extra hard medium as it is not correctable.”
